Abstract

The purpose of the study is to measure the level of the job satisfaction, to ascertain and identify the work factors (relationship, rewards, support and organization structure) and demographics criteria (age, gender, marital status, academic qualification, job categories, tenure and salary categories) that can influence the job satisfaction among the staff of the Federal Territory, Social Security Organization (SOCSO), Kuala Lumpur. Quantitive method was used where 78 set of questionnaires were distributed and the respons was 99% where 77 questionnaires were returned and could be tabulated for the study. Data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS software. It was tested using the realibility test for the questionnaires and for the descriptive analysis in order to get the frequency, percentages and means, t-test and ANOVA were used to find the differences in means based on the demographics criteria and correlation analysis in order to determine the strength of the relationship between the dependent variables and independent variables. The results showed that there were two levels of job satisfaction which were High and Moderate and there was no significant mean differences between the demographics criteria with the job satisfaction factors. However, there was a significant relationship between the job factors and the job satisfaction factors. It is hoped that the findings of the study could assist the management in its efforts to increase job satisfaction and work motivation among the staff so that a harmonious working environment could develop and hence increase the productivity of the organization.
